Black Stars midfielder, Christian Atsu has mentioned he and his team mates along with the technical team will look to exploit the frailties of Cameroon when they face off in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi final on Thursday.
Ghana sealed qualification into the semi final by defeating tournament surprise package, DR Congo 2-1 to set up the meeting with fellow four times AFCON champions.
Ghana last faced off with Cameroon during the 2008 AFCON tournament which the former hosted but was the latter that sealed qualification to the final.
Atsu, who was fouled in the box to win Ghana a penalty which was converted by Dede Ayew admitted the game will be a tough one though he might no be able to predict, he’s certain the frailties of the Indomitable Lions will be fully utilized.
“We are happy to have come off a tough game with the win. We will start preparation towards the next [against Cameroon in the semi final] though football is unpredictable [in terms of prediction], we will work on taking advantage of Cameroon’s weakness to our advantage,” Atsu told reporters in the post match interview.
Ghana is on course to end a 35 year wait for the title and will look to be lucky this time having lost the 2015 final’s on penalties to Ivory Coast
