Head Coach of Aduana Stars, Yusif Abubakar, has said the team would soon bounce back to winning ways after their goalless draw game with Medeama SC on Wednesday, at Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu I Stadium in Dormaa-Ahenkro.
He said he wasn’t surprised or disappointed, with the outcome of the game as it formed part of a “strategy to win or draw in both home and away matches”.
“Drawing is better than being defeated or losing to your opponent. This is football and it’s only fair this is happening. If we have not won our last match we would have suffered double defeat”, he added.
The game produced the league leaders’ first home draw encounter with the Tarkwa based side in this season. Medeama suffered a 4 – 0 drubbing at the hands of the Dormaa side at the same venue during last season’s playoffs.
Coach Abubakar said in a post-match interview that the league leaders were determined to sustain and keep their momentum beating rivals match after match.
He was however not certain the team would emerge the premier league winners at the end of the season in spite of taking an early commanding lead on the league log after seven matches have been honoured.
“It will be difficult to say we are going to win the premiership at this time. All that we do is to ensure we win every match. We don’t want to be complacent at this stage,” he stated.
Coach Abubakar said Medeama had changed their game plan in the second part of the game by playing delay tactics and dramatising foul moments and “this work for them”.
