Technical Director at the Ghana Football Association, Francis Oti Akenteng has admitted that the Black Stars were tactically naïve in their game against Uganda in their group opener of the 2017 Afcon.
“Yes, we were found wanting in the tactical and technical aspect of the game against Uganda. The Ugandans were more efficient in terms of their tactics, than we were on the day. We played well in the first half, but they dictated the second half,” he said in an interview with Asempa FM.
“We have taken notice of that and so we are working on that. The team will be different in our next game against Mali. Mali is also a very strong side, so we are going to approach our next game with all seriousness,” he added.
Football pundits are of the opinion that the Ugandans were more tactically efficient than the Black Stars, but for experience they will have won the day.
But, Oti Akenteng is of the view that, the whole Stars team has taken into consideration all the “mistakes of the last game and so Ghanaians would see a different Black Stars in our next game against Mali”.
