West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) youngster, Daniel Lomotey Adzigodi Agbloe can’t stop scoring at the minute after netting both goals to power the Sogakofe lads to a 2-1 win on the road against Elmina Sharks in the Ghana Premier league match day 11 tie on Sunday afternoon.
Scoring in a fourth straight league game, 17 year old Lomotey’s first ever brace not only took his personal tally to five for the season but also enabled his side open a 5-point gap at the top of the Ghanaian top flight on 23 points.
Now the former DeNart Soccer Academy of Ada goal poacher who went into this, his first season in the top league vowing to emerge top scorer, believes he is on the perfect road to realising his dream.
He didn’t score in the opening seven games, all of which he only made second half appearance as a substitute. But the teenage sensation announced his credentials by scoring on his first start away to Wa All Stars on match day 8. Further strikes have followed against Bechem United and Ashgold before the double against Elmina.
Lomotey insists he is still learning in his debut season, but is keen to realise his goal king target and is highly optimistic he can live up to the big challenge.
“I give thanks to God for giving me two goals today and I am very happy. It keeps my goalking dream alive and I’m thankful to all my teammates, technical team and the supporters as well as my grandma Yemaa for her prayers too,” Lomotey said right after the game in Elmina.
“But for now there is no time to rest, I’m already thinking of our next match. I will continue to work harder to impress and make all our supporters happy,” he added.”
WAFA next play at home to new entrants, Bolga All Stars on match day 12 come Sunday April 16.
