WAFA is on top of the Ghana Premier League table with 23 points
The West African Football Academy [WAFA] finally crowned the burial of the late coach Sam Arday with a 2-1 victory over Elmina Sharks at the Nduom Sports Complex on Sunday.
The ‘Soccer Physicians’ – WAFA are top of the Ghana Premier League table with 23 points, followed by Asante Kotoko [19].
Daniel Lomotey was the hero of the day having scored twice in the first half [28th and 37th minute] to put his side ahead.
Elmina Sharks pulled one back late into the second half through substitute Samuel Arthur but it was too little, too late to salvage a point for the home side.
WAFA have won an impressive three [3] consecutive matches on the road, scoring eight [8] goals in the process – [Wa All Stars 1-4 WAFA], [Bechem United 0-1 WAFA], and [Elmina Sharks 1-2 WAFA].
Coach Sam Arday whose philosophy was used as the foundation for the then Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy, now WAFA was laid to rest last Friday at the Osu cemetery in Accra after a colourful state burial ceremony at the forecourt of the State Banquet House.
