Wa All Stars coach Alhaji Mumuni Sokpari says he is not carried away by his team’s triumph in the 2018 GFA Gala competition ahead of the start of the new season.
The Northern Blues won the two-day competition at Dr. Nduom Sports Complex on Sunday.
They beat newly promoted side Eleven Wonders FC 4-2 on spot kicks to clinch the coveted trophy for the first time in the club’s history.
“I won’t be swollen headed because I have won a gala competition which could last 90 minutes at worst 60 minutes,” he said.
“I will still want to believe the league is different from the gala competition so I will not rest on my odds.”
Sokpari however indicated he will guide the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League champions to a higher level in the upcoming campaign.
“I will go all out and make sure I actually defend my position very well and should also be able to push Wa All Stars to a high level when the league starts.”
