The management committee chairman of the Black Princesses has revealed that the management’s inability to secure visa for four players resulted in the failure to leave the shores of Ghana to Australia on Thursday
The Princesses were scheduled to depart from the country to Australia last week to begin preparations for the 2016 FIFA under 20 female world cup in Papua New Guinea. However the team could not fly with many news outlets attributing it to the Sports Ministry’s failure to fulfill their financial promise to the team.
But in an interview with Asempa FM, the head of the team’s management Nana Benyin Eyison declared that visa acquisition issues resulted in the situation.
“We had issues with four of our players who needed the consent of their players before they will be granted visas. Thankfully everything has been sorted out and we are hopeful of leaving on Monday“.
Nana Benyin also revealed that the team will spend two days before landing in Australia. He also stated that its 32- man contingent with 21 players, 8 from the technical committee and 3 management committee members.
The Princesses will be making their fourth appearance at the tournament with the hope that for the first time they will advance to the quarter finals of the competition
