Orphans at the Osu Children’s Home will be given a new taste of charity as America-based Ghanaian coach George Lamptey is set to hold a soccer clinic for them.
The former Ghana international who has been coaching in the US for more than a decade as well as serving as a top scout for many clubs in Europe will, in June, hold the free soccer clinic for the kids ahead of a summer soccer camp which will be announced soon.
The clinic will be held at the St. Thomas Aquinas School Park from 8:30am to 2:30pm on Saturday 9th June 2018.
According to the former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars player, the free clinic will be one of the few exercises for the orphanage.
“Apart from the usual charity of giving the orphanage foodstuffs and cash, I want to hand them a new taste of charity. The kids are just like kids everywhere and they deserve what with their parents have.
“Such exercises have always been organised for kids staying with their parents but I think these kids also deserve such clinics to be active,” George Lamptey told GHANAsoccernet.com
This will be the first time the former international will be organising such an event for the orphanage which promises to be a yearly exercise.
