Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito has expounded on reasons behind his departure from the club following the appointment of Finnish trainer Juha Pasoja.
The Dawu-based side confirmed the appointment of Finnish coach Juha Pasoja until end of the season on Friday, where he will replace Karim Zito, who has been named as Ghana’s U17 coach.
Earlier reports indicated that Coach Zito was forced out of the club, however, the former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko coach has rubbished that claim – insisting it was his own request that the club brought in another coach to replace him as he could not combine the National team and the club job.
“Interestingly, I asked management to get a coach for the team, it was upon my request because working for the national team and also for the club is too tedious and demanding, I don’t want to be a selfish coach,” Zito told Oyerepa FM.
“I have met him, laid down my coaching philosophies and his tallies with mine so he is good to help our club. No one should think they relieving me of my post. We have worked together for some days, he knows our system of play for away matches as well as home matches but they working on his work permit so don’t think he can be on the bench on Monday. I believe he can help.”
Meanwhile, Dreams FC Ghana Premier League Week 9 encounter with Aduana Stars has been shifted to Monday.
