Asante Kotoko Executive Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei has questioned the commitment and professionalism of his players after recent stodgy performances.
The business mogul sounds frustrated his investments into the club are not yielding dividends.
”I strive to do all I can to give you the best. It’s so because I want you to feel comfortable so you can give us the best,” Dr. Kyei told Kotoko players at the training ground last week.
”We know how things are in the most of the other clubs. We hear things. Kotoko is Kotoko. Everything here must be perfect. Such a prestigious institution has been given to us and is this how you want to play?,” he queried
”You are not playing as you are supposed to do. You know it! I watched your matches. I know what I am talking about. It’s about time you took your profession seriously. We don’t condone these poor performances any longer.
”You’ve to know that this is your means of livelihood. You have to be serious with it; play well as an individual and as a team.
”You should be committed to your profession, not to anyone outside.”
The Porcupine Warriros slipped to fourth on the table following last Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at defending champions Wa All Stars.
Kotoko have now gone five matches without a win.
