Former Medeama coach Tom Strand is reportedly in talks with Hearts of Oak with a view of joining the Phobians ahead of the 2016/17 season.
Hearts have been without a substantive coach after they parted ways with Japanese American Kenichi Yatsuhashi. Portuguese Sergio Traguil took charge on an interim basis but failed to improve the standings of the club as he was sent back to the team’s youth setup.
Yaw Preko took charge of the team for the last four league games but the management have reportedly settled on Tom Strand.
The Swede has been a long term target for the Phobians and was set to join the capital club last season but the move was hampered after Medeama placed an astronomical fee on the move.
The 33 year old left the Tarkwa club for Sweden midway last season after apparently falling out with Technical director Evans Adotey.
Strand won the MTN FA Cup with Medeama but his last game against Hearts of Oak ended in a 2-0 defeat.
