Ghana midfield gem Thomas Partey has talked up the importance of Antoine Griezmann to Atletico Madrid in their quest to clinch this season’s Spanish LaLiga title.
The French attacker has been in electrifying form for the Rojiblancos after netting an impressive seven goals in his last two outings.
The 26-year-old followed up his hat-trick against Sevilla over the weekend with four goals in their 4-0 trashing of Leganes in midweek at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The victory over their Madrid-based rivals helped cut Barcelona’s lead at the top of the LaLiga pile to only a point.
And as the two teams go at loggerheads at the Camp Nou, Partey heaped praise on their talisman and says the Frenchman’s success is all a result of hard work.
“[Griezmann]’s always working hard, sometimes he just lacked luck,” Partey confirmed.
“He’s at his natural level, it’s normal that in some games he doesn’t score.”
“He works hard and deserves the good things that happen to him.”
Griezmann has scored 20 goals in 37 appearances for Diego Simeone’s men in all competitions in the ongoing campaign.
