Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has urged his team-mates to move on from their defeat against Real Sociedad as they aim to finish the season on a high.
The Rojiblancos suffered one of their heaviest defeats this season in the Spanish LaLiga as they were battered 3-0 by Real Sociedad at the San Sebastian on Wednesday.
However, Ghanaian midfield enforcer Partey reckoned that they were second best on the day but says they cannot be reeling over the defeat for too long as they bid to end the season in second place.
“It was been a “hard day” in San Sebastian, although everything can happen in a game in which,” Partey said.
“Real played well, they took advantage of their chances and were lucky because everything they did was to score.”
“We have to forget about this game and move on,” added Thomas, who pointed out that the team has to try that this defeat does not “affect” them.
“We have a philosophy from match to match and now we have to forget about this match and think about Betis.”
Atletico Madrid currently sit 2nd on the log with 71 points, three points above 3rd place Real Madrid with five matches to end the campaign.
