Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari made his debut for Deportivo La Coruna as they drew goalless with Espanyol in the Spanish LaLiga at the Estadio Abanca-Raizor on Friday.
Depor, who are searching for their first win under Coach Clarence Seedorf started the game brightly by attacking the visitors but failed to find the initiative with Federico Cartabia hitting the woodwork as the first half ended in a stalemate.
The script did not change after the recess as they continued their domination in the game, with striker Florin Andone wasting a gilt-edged chance in the 77th minute when he powered a close-range header against the crossbar.
With the game looking set to end in draw, Seedorf introduced Ghanaian enforcer, Sulley Muntari in the 82nd minute to help push for a late winner, but they move did not yield as the former A. C Milan trainer would have wanted with the match ending in a barren draw.
The draw lifts Depor above Las Palmas on the LaLiga standings to 18th.
