Ghana’s Sports Ministry has lost over $4000 and stand to lose more in hotel fees if they don’t pay former Black Stars assistant coach Gerard Nus.
According to reports, the Sports Ministry pays $170 for every night Nus stays in his hotel, meaning the bills have piled up to close to $4,250 (Ghc 20,000) during the 25 days since the AFCON.
The FA however do not pay per diems for the coach, meaning he is left to fend for himself in relation to needs outside his accommodation while he waits for his money transfer notification.
Asked if he would stay for a whole year if it is what it would take for his money to be paid to him, Nus said, simple: “Yes.”
The former Liverpool Youth Team coach said he still hasn’t been given any assurance on when his money will hit his account or whether he will be paid at all, 25 days since returning to Ghana from Gabon.
“There has been no assurance of when,” he said. “No news yet,” he told Pulse Sports.
He said though he is disappointed by the delay, he does not want to believe he is being deliberately starved off his due.
