The Volta Regional capital of Ho is set to have a 10,000-seater multipurpose Youth Centre after the Youth and Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah cut the sod for its construction.
The $2.4 million project forms part of government’s efforts to provide Ghanaian youth with opportunities to develop their talents.
The project, which is being executed by Wilkado Construction Works, will comprise a FIFA-standard football pitch, an eight-lane athletic track, a tennis court, a basketball court, a handball court, a gymnasium, a counselling centre, a youth ICT centre, an entrepreneurship centre and a restaurant.

According to Mr Asiamah, the project begins immediately and is expected to be completed in nine months.
Isaac Asiamah in his address said it was unacceptable for young children to continue to play on the streets at the risk of their lives.
He said it was important for the government to continue to make such investments to secure the future of Ghana.
He also expressed gratitude to the Chiefs of Ho for donating over 100 acres of land for the project.
