Influential TP Mazembe winger Solomon Asante wants his side to finish off Algerian side J. S. Kabylie in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup to make the second leg a mere formality.
The two sides will be locking horns at the Stade du TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi in the first leg of the competition with the second leg coming off in a week in Algeria.
And Asante wants his teams mates to put in their best to secure the qualification before moving to Algeria for the second leg.
“We have played them before and we know how they welcome a team to their home grounds,” he said.
“Their supporters are so noisy that they won’t allow you to eve sleep to prepare for the game the next day.
“So the best we can do it to secure a comfortable win here in Lubumbashi before travelling for the second leg,” he noted.
The Congolese giants suffered a shock elimination in the last round of the qualifying stage of the CAF Champions League to Zimbabwean side CAPS United a few weeks ago.
The diminutive winger intimated his sadness about their unfortunate exit but says they should look forward to making the group stage of the second-tier competition.
“We can’t afford to let our fans down. We need to make them happy by winning a trophy for them this season and that must start with the first leg.”
