Liberty Professionals defender Samuel Sarfo is remaining focused on his work with the Black Stars Team B despite being handed a call-up to the main Black Star team. Yesterday, Black Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah, released a 30-man squad which had 7 players from the Ghana Premier League including Sarfo.
The players have been put together for the AFCON 2019 qualifier against Ethiopia and two friendlies against Mexico and the United States in June and July.
Sarfo said after the Team B’s friendly with Benin on Thursday that he was keeping his attentions on the Black Stars Team B for now before thinking of senior team call-up. “I heard about the invitation but my focus was with the Team B.
“I think I will still keep working because we have a a lot to do. We are in the learning process and our coach, Maxwell Konadu, is urging us to work hard. We are trying to gel and find a way to be tactically compatible. Our efforts against Benin were not bad and we will get better with time.”
Sarfo, Richard Ofori (Wa Allstars), Felix Annan (Kotoko), Joseph Addo (Aduana Stars), Daniel Darkwah (Aduana Stars), Nicholas Opoku (Berekum Chelsea) and Winful Cobbinah (Hearts of Oak) were the players chosen from the Ghana Premier League. – Se
