The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association has rubbished reports that it has contacted 2017 AFCON winning coach Hugo Broos for the vacant Black Stars job.
Ibrahim Sannie-Daara insists the reports are false and must be treated with all the contempt its deserves.
“It is never true that the FA has contacted Higo Broos. I can say with all certainty that no such decision has been taken,” Sannie told GHANAsoccernet.com
“I think some people are just trying to put up their agenda and are trying to draw the GFA in. Broos has not been approached and it must be treated as such,” he added.
The former BBC award-winning journalist argued that the six-member committee set up by the ExCo is yet to even commence their work.
“We named a six-member committee just on Tuesday and they are even yet to commence their work so where from this?
“We have heard the names of a lot of coaches who are reported to be close to the job yet they have not grabbed it. So let’s treat all these are rumours,” he noted.
Hugo Broos led Cameroon to win their fifth Nations Cup trophy at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon where they defeated Egypt in the finals and was in charge when the Indomitable Lions defeated the Black Stars at the semi-finals.
Despite having a running contract with Cameroon, Bruce is also reported to be on the radar of South Africa who are seeking to name him as the new trainer for the Bafana Bafana.
Ghana is expected to appoint a new Coach to replace Avram Grant before the 2019 AFCON qualifier with Ethiopia in June this year.
