Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association Ibrahim Sannie Daara has admitted that the federation will pick numerous lessons from the impasse with Spanish trainer Gerard Nus after the 2017 AFCON.
Sannie believes that the attitude of the Spaniard will guide the FA in their future relationship with their employees.
“Yes there a big lesson we need to learn from what happened between him and the Ghana Football Association,” he told Abusua FM.
‘’We need to be careful with the kind of persons our coaches recommend to assist them do their jobs. The behaviour they will put up when employed should be examined very well to ensure in future we don’t encounter such unprofessional impasse between the two parties [the FA and the coaches],” he added.
The Spaniard, who according to the FA was a video analyst, claimed he was the assistant coach of the Black Stars had to stay in Ghana for close to two months due to his unpaid allowances by the Ghana government and the FA.
Nus was finally sorted out and all his allowances were paid him before he departed for his home country late last week.
But Sannie Daara insists that despite his attitude being a lesson for the FA, the Spaniard has also jeopardized his chances of landing a job with any Africa country again.
”Do you think any African country will employ Gerald Nus to work with, considering his unprofessional conduct with the people who employed him” Sannie interrogated..
”Not even in Africa but in the western world I doubt as to whether he Gerald Nus would be employed by any team and then later put up such unacceptable behaviour to the same people who gave him a job’’
”If you go to other part of the world some coaches and players are even owed 7 months but you hardly hear them behaving like Nus and I think in future if our coach tells us he needs somebody to assist him on monthly basis we will tell him to hold on for us to do our background checks before maybe approving his recommendations.
”It would be prudent for us to make whoever is named our next coach to understand that things may not go on smoothly as expected in future once he agrees then we are at ago so that in future if things go astray he wouldn’t conduct himself like Gerald Nus.
