Ghana forward Richmond Boakye Yiadom believes that his move to China will not hinder his position in the Black Stars set-up.
Boakye-Yiadom, 25, was heavily mooted to be closing in on a move to English Premier League giants Chelsea FC during the January transfer window.
The former Juventus striker however, joined the Chinese Super League side on a three-year contract on Wednesday in a deal worth to around €5 million.
Several pundits believe the sharp-shooter’s decision to block his chance in the Ghana senior national team.
But Yiadom believes otherwise as he indicated that he will make it difficult for the Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah to overlook him by keep hitting the back of the net.
“Ghana give equal opportunities to all players, so I’ll still have a chance at national team football and I’ll have the chance to compete in one of Asia’s most competitive leagues,” Yiadom stated.
“I want to continue my remarkable scoring streak and retain my place in the Black Stars.”
Yiadom finished 2017 in red hot form, scoring 42 goals in 48 matches for both club and country.
He is currently nursing an injury and is not expected to be back in action when the league commences on March 2.
