Ghana defender Baba Rahman is hoping to make his much-awaited return to the pitch against Freiburg after over a year out.
The 23-year-old Schalke man has been training with his teammates and has impressed boss Domenico Tedesco who is said to be willing to reward him with some game time against Freiburg.
Rahman has taken a long way to regain fitness after undergoing two knee surgeries and multiple therapies to correct damaged knee tissue.
The former Ausgburg man is slowly regaining his fitness after a forgettable Africa cup of nations in 2015 that lasted 20 minutes and threatened to bring down the curtains to his promising career.
Schalke are second on the Bundesliga table and on track to return to Champions League football to the Veltins Arena next season but they cant afford to take anything for granted because local rivals Dortmund are just a point behind on 48 points.
