Leicester City winger Jeffrey Schlupp is an injury doubt for Ghana’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Rwanda on September 3.
The Hamburg-born was named in coach Avram Grant’s 23-man squad for the dead rubber with the Amavubi holding at the Accra Sports Stadium.
However, the 23-year-old may not answer the call following an injury revelation by his club’s coach Claudio Ranieri.
“Jeff had a little injury to his muscle,” Ranieri told Leicester official website ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Swansea City.
“It’s unbelievable because he was so good before the Arsenal match [last weekend].
“He felt something and now I hope he will be ready after the international break.”
With the latest development, it is unclear if the versatile man will turn up for the Afcon qualifier.
Ghana has already qualified for the final tournament to be held in Gabon, whereas Rwanda are already out of contention after successive defeats in their last two matches.
Schlupp has 13 appearances and a goal for the Black Stars.
