Chairman of the Professional Footballers’ Association of Ghana, Tony Baffoe has urged the locally based clubs not see his outfit as a threat.
According to the former Black Stars player, their aim of setting up the association is to make sure the locally based players are well groomed before they leave the shores of the country to play in Europe and help them secure better contract and with the idea of helping to develop the local league.
“Sometimes it shocking some players don’t have a copy of their contract when you ask them.” He told Kwese Sports.
“Our interest is to work with the clubs and I don’t want them to see us a threat because we are interested in the welfare of the players.
“We always tell the Premier League clubs and the Division One League clubs to make sure they get copies of contracts anytime they sell out players.
“We also want to make sure that the league gets huge sponsorship deals and television right deals because we have not been able to secure good deals over years but with their cooperation I believe we will get to the point where we want to be.” He added.
