Outgoing CEO of AshGold and Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has announced his desire to wrestle for the seat of FA Presidency from the Kwesi Nyantakyi.
Fianoo, a former Executive Member of the Ghana FA and former Vice Chairman of the Black Stars management committee believes football needs a new trend of leadership and he is the right person to do that.
This comes at the back of a decision from the Board of Directors of AshGold to change the direction of the club by showing Kudjoe Fianoo the exit – a decision that has extremely embittered according to close sources.
Nyantakyi’s tenure of office comes to an end in next year and already several names have popped up as possible candidates for the seat.
With reports that Kwesi Nyantakyi will not seek re-election when his tenure expires in 2019, a couple of sports administrators have declared interest in vying for the position.
Nana Yaw Amponsah, George Afriyie and Fred Pappoe have all expressed their desires with Fianoo being the latest.
“I’m seriously considering the Ghana Football Association(GFA) presidency. It is seriously on my card,” Fianoo said on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports show.
Scared he may not win the election considering the names popping up, Fianoo says he has ways of helping Ghana football develop even if he doesn’t become FA President.
“Even if I don’t become GFA president, there are a lot of other things I can do to help Ghana football improve,” he added.
