Newly appointed coach of Accra Great Olympics, Tom Strand, has expressed optimum belief that his players are capable of beating the drop and retaining their Premier League status.
The Swedish trainer supervised his first game as Olympics manager last Sunday and was impressed with the team’s performance.
The Wonder Club despite the confusion between player-coach, Godwin Attram, and management, following the appointment of Tom Strand, earned a point against Liberty Professionals at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park.
Strand’s appointment was met with stiff resistance from then player coach, Godwin Attram, and a section of the supporters who criticised the management board of imposing the Swedish on the team.
”It’s a good game and I must say I am impressed with the performance of the team today feel we had many chances that we could have scored a couple of goals, but that is the nature of the game. A point away is not bad looking at the fact that we didn’t have the full complement of the playing body,” Strand said in a post-match interview.
”The situation is not that bad and looking at our performance today against Liberty, I think we will survive this season.
”We will go back and work more and sharpen the rough edges in the team to make sure that we start winning.”
