It was all smiles at the funeral of coach Emmanuel Kwesi Afranie when the president of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] Kwesi Nyantakyi met Ghana League Clubs Association [GHALCA] chairman Kudjoe Fianoo.
The FA boss and and GHALCA chairman have been at loggerheads since the latter took over the reigns of GHALCA. In his quest to seek the interest of the clubs, the reason for which he was voted for, Mr Fianoo has clashed with the FA on a number of occasions with the latest being an interview where he openly declared that he is willing to sacrifice his life to see the end of Nyantakyi’s ruling at the FA.
According to the CEO of premier league outfit Ashgold, he has been sidelined by the FA ever since he requested from the association to make available to the clubs details of the StarTimes deal.
Both men have however played down rumors of a frosty relationship as they were seen embracing and smiling at each other when they met at the funeral ceremony of one of Ghana’s astute technical brains, Emmanuel Kwesi Afranie.
Today happens to be a dark day in the history of Ghana football because two of the highly regarded coaches in the country were burried today.
Football fans will be of the hope that the display of friendship and unity by Kwesi Nyantakyi and Kudjoe Fianoo will not be ‘one for the cameras’ but a permanent burial of every difference that exist between them
