Accra Great Olympics board member Fred Pappoe has dispelled rumours of a disagreement between management and head coach Godwin Attram.
The Accra-based side is yet to win a game in the ongoing Ghana Premier League (GPL) with pressure mounting on Attram to turn things around.
Speaking to Class Sports, Mr Pappoe explained that stakeholders of the club only make suggestions on player selection to the coach and that there was no problem between management and the coach.
“Supporters and board members have been making suggestions on who to play and who not to play. It is natural for us to suggest players to him. I’m a board member of Great Olympics and, so, if I see a player, I can suggest to the coach,” he stated.
“That is the whole issue, there is no problem between Godwin Attram and the board or management. I will, therefore, call on the media to report accurate news and be circumspect in what they report.”
Mr Pappoe expressed confidence Olympics would survive relegation despite the fact that they sit bottom of the Ghana Premier League table with only two points.
“Where were Aduana Stars after six games last season and where did they finish at the end of the season? True, we have a problem and its work in progress [but] Olympics will survive and we will not be relegated,” he assured.
