Ebenezer Nii Armah, a powerlifter yesterday emerged the biggest winner of the maiden national Arm Wrestling championship staged by the Ghana Armwrestling Federation.
Ebenezer showed strength, power and style to beat off competition from other armwrestlers to walk home with brand new silver wrist watch worth $400 from the president of the Armwrestling federation Charles Osei Assibey.
He also took home prizes from the sponsors for winning the 120kg.
The program that wssy sponsored by Rush Energy drink, Kasapreko, Vita Milk, Pac Mineral water was graced by Dr Emmanuel Owusu Ansah, a rep of the Sports ministry, GOC president Ben Nunoo Mensah, Ghana Beach Soccer president Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and a host of respected personalities in the sporting fraternity.
Charles Osei Assibey congratulated the winners and also hailed the effort of the other competitors.
He paid tribute to the media for their unflinching support for the development of 10-month old sport and also called on corporate Ghana to help develop Armwrestlers in Ghana
