Newcastle United have wrapped up the permanent signing Christian Atsu from Chelsea on a four-year deal.
The 25-year-old Ghanaian was on loan with the Magpies this season and helped his side clinch the Sky Bet Championship title as they returned to the Premier League.
Atsu failed to breakthrough at Chelsea, and has left for a reported fee of £6.2million as Rafa Benitez bolsters his squad with the addition of the winger.
He failed to play a single game for the Blues since joining from Porto in 2013, and has had loan spells away to Vitesse, Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga before settling up north.
Atsu featured in 35 times in all competitions for the Toon this campaign – scoring five league goals as well as providing three assists.
Benitez said of the transfer: “We are happy to sign a good player.
“He’s shown us that he’s a good professional and someone who is very keen to learn and improve.
“Christian has been a key part of our promotion campaign and he wants to help us to build something for the future.”
