Newly appointed Managing Director of Hearts of Oak Mark Noonan has sounded a note of caution to the playing body that he will not accept excuses as he aims to return the club its glory days.
The American Marketing Executive was introduced to the playing body by club chairman Togbe Afede XIV at the Legon Ajax Park on Wednesday.
Speaking to his new staff and the team, Noonan was clear in his message that he will not condone excuse from any member of the playing body in the coming campaign as he looks to guide the club to win laurels again.
“Change is never easy. We haven’t won anything by way of title in nine years and that is not a culture of Excellence,” Noonan said.
The American added, “It’s not the time for excuses. No referee excuses, no injury excuses. It’s time to work because we are a Club that has to win to get the fans back,” he deduced.
He is described as a top level sports administrator has for a time served as Global Chief Commercial Officer for the World Surf League helping the league with a partnership with TAG Heuer, Jeep, Visa, Airbnb including other top level organisations.
Noonan’s inventiveness has led to a bumper beacon of $20 million sponsorship deal from Citigroup for the Major Soccer League side, Metz.
He assumes the vacant Managing Director post, formerly held by Gerard Ankrah – the post has been vacant since March 2017.
Noonan becomes the club’s fourth MD in the last six years after Fred Crientstil, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe and Gerald Ankrah.
