MLS side New England Revolution have ruled out re-signing Ghanaian midfielder Gershon Koffie for a third time, according to multiple reports in the United States.
Koffie is owned by Swedish top-flight side Hammarby whose sporting director Jesper Jansson was the first to announce the player was not in their future plans.
He moved to Hammarby permanently in 2017 but he hardly saw playing time and returned to New England on loan midway through the season.
According to Pro Soccer USA, the MLS opened the player to league-wide availability on Friday but no club stepped forward to sign the player.
However, there are some interested parties within the league that may work to acquire the player before the MLS transfer window deadline on 1 May at 11:59pm.
Koffie is said to be looking at options elsewhere in Europe.
