The chief executive of Johans Driving Academy in Accra, Nana Kwame Dankwa has joined the race to contest the Greater Accra Circles chairmanship of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football club.
The contestant, who has been an active supporter of Kotoko since they won the African Cup over three decades ago, has held various positions and played various roles in propelling the club to vie for honours at the local and continental levels.
Speaking to Graphic Sports on why he was contesting for the chairmanship of the Greater Accra Circles’ Council, Nana Dankwa said the opportunity would enable him execute his vision of transforming the Circle, to play active role in galvanising Kotoko to achieve greater heights .
“ My vision as chairman for Greater Accra Regional Circles is to see a more vibrant and functioning Council, where every member can actively make significant contributions for the betterment of our mother club,” he assured.
He said when elected, he would develop the human resource base of members, create and operate functional electronic mail accounts and also create a website that would provide information to all other circles.
“ I will also hook us onto two social media platforms to make communication an essential tool for our deliberations and information dissemination, and also engender effective communication at all levels,” he assured.
Nana Dankwa, who also doubles as the Sports Coordinator of Hot Fm in Accra, further promised to institute an award for hard working Circle members, provide Kotoko-branded exercise books with Circle numbers in basic schools to generate money for the club when given the nod.
“ I will also introduce multipurpose ID Card that can be used for discount shopping, introduce dues cards to record any amount paid, organise annual Circles Assembly to serve as platform to brainstorm on programmes and events for the ensuring year, and strategise appropriately and secure airtime on both Radio and TV to disseminate Club/Circles news as part of marketing tool to raise revenue for the Council”, he further assured.
