Meadeam SC coach Samuel Boadu has downplayed his side’s title chances following their victory over AshantiGold last weekend.
The Yellow and Mauves closed the gap at the top to one point last weekend when they overcame league leaders AshantiGold 2-1 at the Tarkwa T&A Park.
Despite their superb form in the ongoing campaign where they have lost just two games – coach Boadu believes his outfit are far off being considered league title favourites.
“We are nowhere in the season to talk about title chances. We are just focused on a game-by-game basis,” Boadu said, as reported by his club’s official website.
“It was a difficult game against Ashanti Gold but we managed to break their resolve.
“We have put the win behind us and focused on our next game against Ebusua Dwarfs on Thursday.
“Like I said, we are staying grounded and not getting carried away. There are still few areas we need to work on going forward.
“We have many, many, tough games ahead of us and so let’s focus on that.”
Medeama, who finished ninth last season, sit 3rd on the standing with 16 points with two games in hand while leaders AshantiGold have 17 points with a game to play.
