President John Dramani Mahama has for the past four years failed the country, especially the sports sector, Mr Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, has said.
According to him, Mr Mahama has not been able to fulfil most of the promises his party made to Ghanaians in their 2012 manifesto, including the promise to build 200 sports colleges. For these failures, Mr Baah Agyemang said Mr Mahama must be voted out of office in the December 7 polls.
Speaking to Accra Sports in an interview on Tuesday October 18, Mr Baah Agyemang said Mr Mahama “made a lot of promises,” explaining: “He told us he was going to build sports centres in every district and in every school. They were going to build even 200 sports colleges within Ghana. Now his term of office has ended but none has been seen. Not even a foundational work. So their manifesto can never be compared to ours. We are not in power. When we were in power, Ghanaians knew what we did. We built four new stadia, we were able to bring CAN 2008 to Ghana, and the amount of money that came on board (remained in the country).”
He also said the recently completed Cape Coast Stadium was started by the Kufuor administration.
