Liberty Professionals captain Samuel Sarfo insists Latif Blessing’s departure will not affect them next season in the Ghana Premier League as they will learn to live without their star.
The 19-year-old is on the verge of sealing a three-year deal with South Africa Premier Soccer League side Cape Town City FC and he is expected to arrive in the country next week.
Blessing scored 17 league goals last season to help Liberty avoid relegation and he was awarded the goal king and Best player awards as a result.
“We are not going to be affected by Latif’s departure in the new season.
Liberty Professionals are known for nurturing unknown talents to make them known,” Sarfo told Ghanasoccernet.com.
“We have other players available who are capable of replacing him next season. I’m not promising, but I can assure you that there is a player in our midst who possesses same qualities like Latif Blessing. You will surely get to know him in the upcoming season,” he added.
Blessing will become the third Ghanaian at Cape Town should he complete his move after Nana Akosah-Bempah and Joseph Adjei.
Goal understands that MLS side Kansas City have also submitted a bid to Liberty Professionals and should the Cape Town deal hit a snag, the youngster will be heading to United States.
