The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has admonished Fifa boss Gianni Infantino to ensure that the reforms that he is implementing at the world football governing body trickle down to the administration of the sport in the African continent.
The Ghanaian leader on Monday professed complete support for the administrator when he called on him at the seat of government in Accra.
Fifa’s image has been battered with corruption scandals which saw the election of a new President in Infantino to lead a house cleansing course.
The new leader who has now marked one year in office has already began implementing some tough reforms which he says will help restore credibility, strengthen governance and rebuild trust.
“The reforms that you have initiated in the administration of global football has our support.
“What we will like to see is that those reforms are also translated into the administration of African football. That will be a major achievement…,” President Akufo-Addo stated.

Fifa President Gianni Infantino completed a four-nation tour of Africa with Accra as his final stop. As part of his reforms, last year he launched the “FIFA 2.0: The Vision for the Future” – a roadmap for how to most effectively grow the game, enhance the football experience for fans and players and build a stronger institution.
