Leeds United supporters have called on their management to purchase Ghanaian defender Andy Yiadom from Barnsley this summer.
Yiadom has been a mainstay for Barnsley since joining from Barnet in the summer of 2016.
The right-back has been linked with a host of moves away from the Oakwell ground following his superlative performance in the ongoing English Championship season.
The 26-year-old was reported to be keen on re-uniting with former Barnsley manager, Paul Heckingbottom at Leeds United during the January transfer window, but the deal did not materialized after both sides failed to agree on a fee.
However, Yiadom will be available on a free transfer when his contract expires in June and the rumour mill has started linking him to the Yorkshire Club again – which their fans believe he could be an adequate addition in the summer.
According to The Sun’s transfer expert Alan Nixon, wrote on his Twitter handle that the Lily-Whites are “strong favourites” to land the in-demand Ghana international.
He has made 31 appearances in all competitions for the second-tier strugglers this season, including 29 league starts.
Supporters have claimed on social media that Yiadom is a “great player” and a “class” act, although some are concerned as to whether he is better at left-back or right-back.
