LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena has regretted selling Ghanaian-born defender Kofi Opare as he fails to get his replacement.
Arena sold the 23-year-old defensive pillar to DC United this summer hoping to sign Sacha Kljestan from Belgian champions Anderlecht but the deal fell through.
“We were going to add a player that is Sacha Kljestan that was why we sold Opare but It didn’t work out” Arena told Washington Post.
“But we did end up adding a player without the allocation slot: Alan Gordon.”
Born in Asante Region town of Mampong in Ghana, Opare who has played for Michigan Bucks and Detroit City is yet to be capped by Ghana or America at any level.
