Information reaching The Finder indicates that Ibrahim Tanko, Maxwell Konadu, Stephen Appiah and Richard Kingson, will officially form the new backroom staff of the senior national football team the Black Stars.
As earlier indicated in our previous publications, Ibrahim Tanko and Maxwell Konadu will be the two assistant coaches to assist Kwesi Appiah.
President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has already confirmed that the newly-appointed coach of the Black Stars will be backed by two deputies.
Stephen Appiah will replace Sarban Quaye as the new team manager of the team whilst Richard Kingson takes over the goalkeeper’s trainer.
According to unconfirmed reports, Kwesi Appiah has also recommended for a physical instructor.
Earlier this week, the Vice-President of the Ghana Football Association and Chairman of the Black Stars committee, George Afriyie, confirmed that media reports of an imminent shake-up in the technical team are true.
He said, “Kwesi Appiah is the right coach for Ghana looking at the current circumstances. What is important to happen now is that Ghana Football Association has agreed to make changes in the backroom staff which Avram Grant left behind”.
Appiah has officially started his work as Black Stars coach and will be earning a reported US$40,000 as monthly salary.
