Three coaches have been shortlisted for the vacant Black Stars job, starrsportsgh.com can confirm.
A hundred and thirty-two (132) applications were submitted by coaches and their representatives from around the world when the Ghana FA opened its doors for a 10-day period.
On Monday, the Committee handling Ghana’s search for Avram Grant’s successor met for the first time since closing applications.
Starrsportsgh.com has reliably established that the Committee made up of Kwesi Nyantakyi, George Afriyie, Francis Oti Akenteng, Opoku Nti, Alex Asante and Emmanuel Owusu Ansah did a thorough job of pruning the applications to a shortlist of three coaches at Monday’s meeting.
Starrsportsgh can also state that of the three, one is the obvious local breed, Kwasi Appiah.
Three other locals – Abdul Razak, Bashir Hayford and former Black Queens coach Kuuku Dadzie also applied for the job.
Starrsportsgh.com however is unable to confirm the identities of the two shortlisted expatriates at the time of filing this report.
The search, we understand, intensifies next week as the six-man committee chaired by Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has set Thursday, March 30 to begin interviews with the three shortlisted applicants in Accra.
