Asante Kotoko is yet to sign an agreement with kit makers Barex, the club has clarified.
The Porcupine Warriors have appeared in shirts provided by the relatively known company since the start of the season but a binding contract to formalize the relationship between the two outfits is yet to be signed.
Clarifying issues surrounding the relationship, legal representative for Asante Kotoko, Yaw Boafo stated categorically that “formally, Kotoko has not signed any contract with anybody.”
“We have spoken to Barex and they have presented an offer.
“There are among other small issues including performance demands which need to be reviewed,” he further added.
Few weeks to the start of the 2016/17 season, management of Asante Kotoko were weighing options on choosing from three kit manufacturers – Under Amor, Macron and Barex but the club had to settle for the latter as their products were readily available for use.
Asante Kotoko plans to sell replicas of the ongoing strip provided by Barex as demands from the club’s fans soar. They have recorded 13 points from a possible 15 in the opening five games of the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League.
