The Ghana @60 celebration match between Kotoko and Hearts of Oak was launched at the Press Hall of the Independence square on Tuesday.
The launch was to officially announce the participation of Ghana’s two most glamorous clubs in the game which is being used to commemorate the 60th anniversary celebration.
The event was however graced by officials of the two Clubs (Kotoko and Hearts), the Ghana @60 celebration committee, the deputy sports minister Hon. Pius Hadzide as well as re-appointed Black Stars Coach Kwesi Appiah.
Both teams (Kotoko and Hearts) confirmed their participation in the football match which takes place at the Accra Sports Stadium on May 1.
The Ghana @60 celebration committee also pledge their support for the match by making a promise to reward the winner of the much anticipated clash a whopping GHC15, 000 in addition to the GHC50,000 which will be given to the two clubs for their participation.
Deputy Sports Minister Hon. Pius Hadzide who stood in for Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah also pledged government support by promising the President His Excellency Nana Akuffu Addo will grace the occasion on May 1.
According to organizers, the best player of the game will take away an LED TV and a cash prize.
The Ghana at @60 celebration runs through the year hence several activities being organized by the committee to celebrate the occasion.
