Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s official mouthpiece, the ‘Kotoko Express’ is once again on the verge of suspending operations due to its huge debt to Graphics Communication.
Associate Editor for the outfit, Jerome Otchere has revealed to Kapital News, “the paper will not be returning to the newsstands until the team returns from their break and until issues relative to its huge indebtedness to staff and GrPackaging (G-PAK) are satisfactorily addressed”.

It would be recalled that in June this year, the mouthpiece suspended its operations due to an amount they owed G-PAK, a subsidiary of Graphic Communications Group Limited to the tune of about 168,000 cedis.
He then explained to Kapital News that, “Well, we’ve been forced to shut down because of operational difficulties, operational difficulties arising out of a few issues which we’ve had with our printers and our staff”, and it’s seem the situation is yet to improve.
Mr. Otchere says a 10-page report has been sent to the management and the Board of directors of the porcupine warriors on its operations for the 2015/16 season in a bid to avert this situation next season or in the near future.
“It is true we have submitted our report to the managers of the club and the board of directors, the report basically talks about what we were able to do throughout the season, it captures the state of affairs of the Kotoko Express and the website”.
He explained further, the document details the challenges the club newspaper and website faced and its indebtedness to G-PAK, “We also share our opinion on what we see as the way forward for the two media outlet for the club and we are hoping that this will form the basis for any decision that will be taking concerning the Kotoko Express and the Kotoko website”.
He hopes the document will change present situation for the better, “even if it doesn’t form the basis, our expectation is that, this will add to whatever decision that will go into the management of the paper and the management of the website in the next season or in the years to come”.
