Asante Kotoko coach Zdravko Lugarusic says he was pleased with his charges performance in their stalemate against Berekum Chelsea in matchday two of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The Croatian was eyeing his second victory of the campaign after an opening day win over Liberty Professionals. He now claims they will compound the woes of the Hunters after their visitors were knocked out of the Caf Confederations Cup by MC Algers.
“I think the draw was a fair result of the game. We are on the right track because we didn’t lose and it’s not easy to go to Berekum and pick a point. It has always been a hot venue,” Lugarusic was quoted as saying by Herosportsgh.com.
“Our substitutions gave us some better moments and created some good chances in the second-half. We were just unlucky not to have scored.
“We are back to training and I am thinking about the next game against Bechem United. We just have to focus on winning the next home game. The visitors are not in good moments now after losing in Algeria, so it is a good opportunity for us. We have to win and try to pick one away victory in the next three away games,” he added.
Kotoko are second on the log with four points and will travel to Obuasi on Sunday to lock horns with regional rivals Ashanti Gold in the Asante derby at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
