Karela United FC forward William Opoku Mensah stole the headlines on Wednesday after he scored a hat-trick to help his side to beat giants Hearts of Oak 3-1 at the CAM Park.
The 22-year-old, came on in the second half when his side were down by a goal to bag one of the fastest hat-tricks in the history of the Ghana Premier League.
He scored in 47th, 49th and 64th minutes to seal the victory for the newly promoted side coming from behind.
“I feel very great and I think it is my training that got me this remarkable feat in my football career,” he told reporters.
Mensah further indicated his 19-minutes hat-trick against the Phobians is the biggest achievement in his career.
“I will say it is the greatest achievement in my football history. Hearts of Oak is a big club so being able to score three goals against them is no fluke.”
“It is not an easy task to do this so it is a very big achievement and great history in my career.”
Mensah is currently joint top scorer in the premiership after his hat-trick.
He has netted four goals in six appearances for the Pride and Passion side so far in this campaign.
