Former Black Stars captain and defender John Mensah popularly known as “Rock of Gibraltar” insist that his football career has not ended even though he has been inactive for some time.
The tough playing defender revealed this in an interview on Agoo TV’s Dwidwamu Sports on Thursday.
“I’ve not quit football; not now, after my time with Lyon, I went to Sweden but injuries did not allow me to play a match for them. I had to leave after the contract ended in November 2016 so I came back home”.
“I have been undergoing some special training. I’m okay now but because I’ve been inactive, I’m not eager to return to the national team now. He added
The 34-year-old defender also hinted he would soon relaunch his career in Europe, dismissing suggestions he could settle for a Ghanaian team.
The defender has played at two World Cups and was Captain of the team during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa
John Mensah who begun his football career with Ashanti Gold has had spells at Rennes, Lyon and Sunderland among others.
