Jovic and Rebic scored in the 23rd and 41st minutes to seal a 3-0 win before the break.
The win handed Frankfurt a record 45 points from 27 matches for the first time in over a decade.
Kovac’s side has been eyeing a top 6 finish to secure a ticket to play in the European Champions League or the Europa League next season.
Kevin’s goal against Mainz 05 is his sixth for the side, making him the joint second top scorer with Jovic and Rebic.
