Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori has given an indication he is ready to help the senior national team win the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Ghana is aiming at winning its fifth Africa Cup of Nations title at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, and the Wa All Stars goalie, speaking to Class Sports, said he wanted to play a major role in Ghana’s triumph.
“Everyone is ready and I’m also ready. I’m not with the team to just make up the numbers because my dream is to make an impact. I strongly believe we have what it takes to win the competition and I want to play a major role,” he stated.
Some concerns have, however, been raised over Ofori’s readiness for the event, owing to the fact that he hasn’t played competitively since the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League season has not begun.
Ofori, though, said that would be no issue because he was training well.
“I’ve heard people say I haven’t had much activity because the league has not started yet. All I want to tell those people is that I have been training well, I know what I can do and I’m very much ready for action,” he noted.
