I’m Proud and Happy of My Players Performance

Ghana coach Avram Grant has praised his team despite Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Egypt in the second Group E game of the World Cup qualifiers, adding that all is not over for Ghana.

A goal each from Mohamed Salah and Abdallah El-Said was all that the Pharaohs needed with their vociferous fan support to pick an important three points from Ghana at the Alexandria’s 86,000-seat Borg El-Arab Stadium.

Speaking at a pres conference after the game, the Israeli manager stated he was satisfied with the performance his players put up in the cagey clash.

“I’m proud and happy of my players performance, We dominated the game until the penalty,” Avram Grant said.

“Egypt and Uganda are leading the group but we still have 12 points to acquire in the qualifiers.

“Anything is possible in football. We will compete firstly at the coming Africa Cup of Nations and then we will fight in the coming period to get the remaining points and reach the World Cup.

“Fan existence wasn’t a source of worry for us and the atmosphere was great. We had the possession but finally football is a game of result,” Grant added.

Egypt lead the group with six points, two clear of Uganda who beat Congo 1-0 on Saturday.
